Romantic Percentages for no_strawberries

"Maybe." Tony doesn't much care any more about the running joke. He's still got an adrenaline high from the battle and he still wants Pepper more than any thing else. He wants to make sure he's still really alive and that Pepper is here with him now.

He laughs again, giving Tony another kiss.

"I'm glad you're alive." Pepper teases his fingers underneath Tony's shirt.

Tony sucks in a breath. "Me too." He reaches down to take his shirt off completely. The arch reactor glows brightly.

He runs his fingers along the reactor, then leans over to press a kiss to Tony's chest.

"And I'm sorry I missed your phone calls."

Tony isn't going to explain to him how sad he felt when JARVIS declared the call failed. He hadn't even gotten to leave a voice mail explaining just how he feels. Tony doesn't cry, never has. But not getting to hear Pepper's voice one last time had broken him. Badly.

"You'd better pick up next time." He sounds more despite then he meant to, more sad too.
