It seemed certain at that moment that the boy Merlin had been was going to disappear entirely and be replaced by this dark, forlorn stranger.

Love love love that line. And poor Merlin. But I like that you made it clear it was partly his own choices.

I think it has to do with somewhat obscure fandoms you write for. I think unless you're like me, you're not going to read something unless it's for a show you watch. It's not a reflection on your writing ability :)
