I did a little happy dance when I saw the update, and this chapter justified my excitement! You're quite the tease with Jack and Rose's near miss of each other.

Love the tenseness and eventual understanding between Mal and Jack. Mal's the protective sort, and Jack is dangerous enough to set off his instincts. Speaking of dangerous, man, those thugs must be really hard core and really stupid to capture Zoe. River's also fabulous in this chapter.

Yes--and by the same token, Jack's also the protective sort, so he completely understands Mal's reaction to him. If he'd known Andrea for years, he'd feel that way about himself, too.
