I historically hate Halloween, minus a few years when I was still a kid and could go trick-or-treating. Wow, Aidan. I'm so sorry it happened, but I really admire the attitude you have about the whole thing. You've not victimizing yourself, you aren't panicking, and it all seems very logical. I'm glad you had people there to help you (eventually - 28 phone calls is a LOT). I'm glad you're choosing to get something out of this experience.

Thanks Matt. It sounds kinda funny, but I'm proud of myself too. Since moving here, this has been my biggest fear, and I've always assumed that my reactions would be so much more extreme. I mean, yes, there will be a lingering fear for a long time of walking alone, but the logic that was still functioning in my head before it and still now gives me a lot of self confidence I have never had...like "I can handle this!" you know?
