Loved it, as much as I love all of your writing. This is a new, more mature Jou than we are used to seeing, and I much appreciating him to the regular interpretation of a spastic, unsophisticated goofball.

And naw, it's not cheating. If it weren't for inspiration from other things, none of us would ever get past our writer's block!

Thank you! I've always thought that Jou was mature deep down...he's a kid who was forced to grow up pretty quickly, so even if he goofs off like a normal teen, I suspect there's a pretty solemn core in there.

I had insane writer’s block on this theme so I finally broke down and stole the inspiration from a scene in Animal Academy. It feels like cheating to borrow scenes from other things, but guh, I just wanted to complete this theme and move on. >.<

Dude, I'm guilty of doing this, too. xDD; But hey, as long as you can beat your writer's block! ^^;

I love how this is written from Jou's POV - I don't want to say Yuugi's weak, but it shows the how fragile his emotional state when it comes to Atemu, and to have his friends also sense it causes a much more significant impact. Plus a lot of the words in this theme contribute to that angsty atmosphere so nnnnn another lovely theme. <3333 I don't care if the idea's kind of stolen (I do that lots of times anyway), it's how well you carry out what you want.
