i was getting totally antsy and just lonely because i have no other being to talk to while at home unless i call them. i looked outside to see 2 birds squatting on the rails of my porch, and i thought "how lovely" and there was this adorable squirrel scurrying around in the garden jumping in and out of the bushes and flowers, and a moment came ( Read more... )

oh, yeah, my phone's out of minutes, and my mom found out about it, and while she didn't turn it off, i figure tehre's no point paying for it, as i'm now home most of the time to answer our house phone.

cooool! it is called homeworld (i name dropped it in that last post).
normally i would not suggest such a weighty endeavor, but the game's tutorials are so comprehensive that you will be a veritable master by the time you run through all of them. it is rediculously cinematic, so playing it is half strategy and half enjoying the show.
and no joke- yesterday i used one of the abstract systems the game employs to triangulate the correct placement of a nail against two segments of chair leg. like, i was visualizing setting the coordinates of my ships as i estimated where the center of the perpendicular piece of wood was.
moral of this story: homeworld will make real life way more fun.
