Not sure how many of you read Orson Scott Card, but he's an amazing sci-fi writer, and his book Ender's Game is a wonderful read.

Which is why I was really saddened to read that he has written an article for the Mormon Times calling for people to rise up and call for revolution against a government that allows gay marriageMr. Card, I love your ( Read more... )

It's odd- he's a great writer and obviously highly intelligent, but he's a (pardon the pun) card-carrying homophobe. I just don't get it. It also doesn't cross over into his writing, which is again, weird...

Gawd. I love his books too, but yes. It's particularly hard to respect much else about his character with this kind of crap. it really is pretty sad. T__T

You know, I've heard stuff about this big Mormon conspiracy buried within Ender's Game, but I always assumed it was just people being kooky. But regardless of whether Card's trying to plant pro-Mormon messages in his books or not, I agree that it's not worth filling the pockets of a bigot.
