Olaf is home. The surgery went well. Everyone said he did well. The surgeon found more scar tissue than he was expecting which lead to much longer time on the table than the anticipated. But the scar tissue is removed and the ligament reattached and now on to healing. He is resting comfortably on the couch and has only minor discomfort (yay for ( Read more... )

Had to be here at 7:45- we got here at 7:30. They just took Rick for the "pre-exam" and to get into his sexy rear exposure gown at 8:25. Why do they even ask you to be here if they know damn well they aren't going to take you then????? Today is the day. Olaf is scheduled for surgery at 9:15 am. I will post when we get home to let all know of his condition. He seems ok, not too nervous. I think I have the anxiety for both of us :) Zanax here I come....

So, today I was driving along in Syracuse up on Onondaga Hill and I saw this young deer on the side of the road. I slowed down and prayed that it wouldn't try to cross the four lanes of traffic and then went on my way. 2 hours later I drive by the same spot and the deer is still there, looking very agitated. A main tenant of teaching is not to lecture for more than 20 minutes at a time. Why have I been sitting here for the past 4 hours with only one break??? Just shoot me! Why do I sign up for these summer inservices? Will I ever learn????
