Akame, (Ryoda)
R; Romance, Humor, Angst, Friendship
Jin is a singer and he desperately needs a dancer for his upcoming show. Kame is a dancer and he has some trouble with bad guys. The two meet and hate each other but they have no other choice so they make a deal.
You have to grow up and I have to be more patient. We both have to change
“What did you do to my friend???”
“Huh??”
“I repeat so you can probably conceive it with your microscopical mind. WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY FRIEND???”
“Kamenashi, you don’t have to shout, I heard you for the first time, as well. I just have no idea what you’re talking about.” Jin snapped at the boy angrily.
They were at the singer’s dining room and it was very early in the morning. Jin was sure he would have thrown Kame out of his house if he hadn’t been already awaken. But he was because practice would start within an hour and Kame was sure if he was ringing the doorbell for ten minutes he would get on Jin’s nerves enough for the singer to finally open the door. Eventually, that was what happened.
Kame sighed deeply to calm himself. He took off his glasses vehemently and rubbed his eyes. Jin couldn’t turn his head away from the boy’s face. Despite the worried expression he wore he was amazingly beautiful. Jin inhaled deeply.
“Ueda.” Kame said with a sigh and threw himself on the nearest armchair.
“Ueda?” Jin repeated. „What do you mean?” he asked in a nervous tone. Could it be that Kame knew he was talking to the boy about him?
“Don’t play stupid, Akanishi! Do you think that I believe you don’t know about it?” Kame jumped up and started strolling about the room. Jin watched the boy intently and pretended to be indifferent but inside his heart something said that childish Kame was way better than the nervous one.
“About what? Look, Kamenashi, if you assume that I’m a mindreader then I have to dissapoint you. “
Kame stopped abruptly and stared at the singer. His childish self returned as he sat back on the armchair and pouted. “I know you knew it.” he said in a small voice.
“Tell me, what’s wrong.” Jin said as he approached the younger boy. His voice was so soft and his face so worried that Kame looked up at him surprised and his anger was thrown away.
“Well… I… I… can you just move away from me a little more, Akanishi?” he stuttered embarrassedly.
Jin stilled and when he noticed that he was indeed very close to the boy, he stepped back.
Kame sighed. “Last night I saw Tat-chan with… with… someone. They were practically making out on the street.”
“And what? Are you jealous?”
“What? No! God, no!” Kame yelled. “What I’m saying is that he was with… with…”
“Yeah?” Jin started to lose his patience again.
“With Yamapi.” the boy finished and he raised his gaze up to look at the idol.
Jin blinked and he looked as if he was in trance. He felt the blood drawing out of his face and he just kept staring at Kame. Then he raised his hand and slowly covered his mouth with it while he kept staring at the other boy with wide eyes.
“Oi! Akanishi! What’s wrong with you?” Kame stood up and he stepped closer to Jin. “Hey, don’t die on me, ok? Come on, sit down…” he grabbed the man’s shirt and guided him to the chair he had been sitting by now. “…here.”
Jin slowly lowered to sit, his hands still on his mouth. Then he shut his eyes and buried his face in his palms. ‘So I was wrong. I was wrong the whole time. Yamapi didn’t fight with Kamenashi. He hasn’t got anything to do with the whole dirty business. He was being weird because he was seeing Ueda. And he knew about Kamenashi’s injury because Ueda told him about it.’ It made sense. It actually explained everything about Yamapi.
“I’m such an idiot.” he mumbled quietly.
Kame was looking at him shocked. “Yeah, I know that. But it’s strange that you admit it. Are you okay? Are you sick or something?”
“No, but…” Jin ignored the younger man as his mind was still working on comprehending what he had just heard. He felt stupid and very much guilty by accusing his best friend of beating up someone when he really had no evidence, as Ueda said. The man was defending Yamapi because he knew that the other was innocent.
Then Jin jumped up from the armchair startling Kame who just fell on his back. The singer grabbed his hands and pulled him up then dragged him towards the door.
“Wh.. What? Wait…. let go of my hand… what are you doing?” Kame shrieked and ignored the shivers that ran through his body by Jin’s warm touch.
“We’re going.” Jin replied in a determined voice.
“Where to?? Hey, I said let me go!!! What about practice?” Kame asked as he was trying to shake the man’s hand off him.
“Practice can wait.” the idol said and they were already on the way to the music store where Ueda worked.
ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ
Ueda’s face was redder than a tomato and Kame couldn’t help but feel sorry for him.
“So you saw me?” he whispered quietly and looked at his friend with a miserable expression on his face.
Kame nodded.
“You saw me with Pi.” Ueda concluded once again as reality was sinking slowly into his mind. Jin cleared his throat impatiently.
“Ueda, I have to ask you something.”
“Hey!!!” Kame yelled at him. “Don’t be such an asshole! Don’t you see how shocked he is?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m really sorry but it’s not the time to start chit-chatting” Jin snapped and turned back to Ueda. Kame kicked him under the table and Jin yelled out angrily. He was about to retort but Ueda’s voice made him stop.
“You want to ask about what we were talking about yesterday, right?”
Jin nodded. “Yes I need to know why you defended Pi. If my assumption was wrong I have nothing to worry about anymore.”
“Hey, hey, hey!!! I think I skipped some pages in the story here.” Kame shouted as he pointed to the two men accusingly. “What are you talking about just now?”
“Nothing much.” Jin said quickly.
“Akanishi…” Kame started warningly. “You dragged me here so you better let me know what it’s all about.”
“He wanted to know if Yamapi was the one who beat you up last week.” Ueda said before Jin could stop him.
“HUUUHHHH??? But… But… how… when… where… what…?” came the intelligent question from the youngest boy’s mouth.
“But the answer is no.” Ueda continued. “He didn’t get the scratch on his arm in fighting…. it was me, actually… “ he flushed. “And he knew about Kame’s injury because I was with him when Kame called me and told me about it.”
Jin sighed. He didn’t notice Kame staring at him curiously, wondering if the singer was worried about him, as well, or only for his friend.
Then a ringtone filled the air of the room and Jin groaned with annoyance. “My manager… I have to talk to him” he said and left the two friends alone. Kame turned to the man.
“Tat-chan… why are you with Yamapi?” he asked carefully. He didn’t expect his friend to start shouting.
“WHYYY? You ask me why? I have the right to decide whom I’m with!!!! I can decide who I want to see, I want to kiss, I want to have…”
“Hey, hey, Tat-chan! Calm down, ok?” Kame said being surprised by the sudden outburst and wondered what had gotten into the man. Ueda sighed deeply.
Kame looked up at his friend. “Tat-chan…. are you in love?”
Ueda sighed once again and lent back on his chair. He rubbed his forehead wearily. “I am.” he whispered.
Kame’s eyes widened a bit. “Well… that’s… “
“But not with him.” the man added and fixed his gaze on the table.
“What?”
Ueda looked away from the table but didn’t dare to let his eyes meet with Kame’s curious ones. “I’m sure you know who it is…” he said in a small voice.
Kame jumped up from his chair. “I KNEW!!! I KNEW IT!!!!” he yelled happily but then he sat back frowning. “But then… why are you seeing Yamapi?”
Ueda rolled his eyes. “Come on, we both know that I have no chance…”
“I think you have! I really think so!!” Kame tried to convince his friend.
“Kamenashi! We have to go now.” Jin ordered as he entered the room.
“But…”
“My manager said we have to go and take a look at the arena to check if everything would be okay for Friday. Usually I take Koki with me but since he’s not here and I don’t have time, you’re coming with me.” he stated and he didn’t bother to wait for an answer so he walked out.
Kame was furious. “Bakanishi!!!” he gritted his teeth. “By the way, Tat-chan, we’re talking about this later.”
Ueda nodded and waved his hand to sign him to leave and follow Jin.
ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ
The arena was so huge that Kame couldn’t see the end of it from the stage. “Wow, that’s… amazing!!” he yelled grinning widely. Then he walked to the middle of the stage and made a backflip easily. Jin was strolling about the stage then he sat down and just watched the enormous place. Kame walked there and sat next to him. The arena was empty and silent now but they could hear the voice of thousands of shouting fans in their ears.
“Akanishi, can one ever get used to the feeling of performing in a huge place like this?”
Jin giggled. “No, I don’t think so. But that’s why it’s so exciting.” he look at the boy and their gazes were locked for a second. But the next moment Kame snapped his head away and jumped up.
“Akanishi, do you wanna see my new moves? It’s the newest, a combination of some very spectacular ones, I worked hard on it. Please watch!” he asked with excitement.
Jin smiled at the boy’s childish face. “Sure.”
Kame took off his glasses, placed them on the floor then walked in the middle. He frowned in concentration as he shook his arms to ease them. Jin crossed his legs and watched the boy’s slender figure. It somehow felt good to be with Kame. Here, where there was noone else except the two of them. It was so peaceful, without fighting, without throwing curses, without hurting each other.
Jin smiled and looked amazed at the younger man’s moves. He was doing backflips one after an other as he was approaching the edge of the stage. Jin was sure that he was going to stop as he reached the edge, but Kame jumped up once more than suddenly disappeared from Jin’s sight and a loud bang was heard.
The singer rolled his eyes. “Hey, Kamenashi, that was spectacular, indeed! Now, come on, it’s not that funny.”
There was silence. Jin’s smile froze on his face. “Kamenashi, I said it’s not funny. Come on we have a lot of things to do today. If you’re not coming I’ll leave you here.” he warned the boy.
There was silence. Jin slowly rose up from his place and started to walk towards the edge of the stage. When he glimpsed the boy his heart sank into his stomach and he felt goosebumps on his arms.
Kame was lying on the hard floor seemingly lifeless, with eyes closed and his body motionless. Jin jumped off the stage and crouched down next to boy. He touched Kame’s arm. “Kamenashi!” his voice was hoarse and no more than a whisper. He bent down and placed his head on the boy’s chest but he heard only his own rapid heartbeating echoing in his ears. His mouth went dry and his throat was aching. He didn’t know what to do so he just start shaking Kame’s shoulders and he didn’t notice that he was practically shouting.
“KAMENASHI, WAKE UP! WAKE UP, PLEASE! KAMENASHI, DON’T DO THIS TO ME! OI, KAME, KAME!!!!!!!”
“Wow, you called me Kame.” Jin heard the boy’s voice. It took him a minute to realize who was talking. Kame opened his eyes and jumped up from the floor. He looked at the singer and burst out laughing hard. “God, you should see your own face now!” the young man chuckled as he bent to rest his hands on his knees. Jin slowly stood up. “Hah!!! I can’t believe you fell for that trick!” Kame managed to say between bursts of laughing.
Jin was just staring at the boy. He was still standing or rather was frozen in one spot with wide eyes and pursed lips, his hands were clentched into fists. He couldn’t think clearly and all his senses was clouded by an unexplainable feeling. His whole body was trembling by adrenaline running through his veins and he was sure he had never felt this way.
Scared and angry, worried and angry, relieved and angry, angry, angry, all at the same time. And these mixed emotions offered him only one way to react. He took a step towards Kame and slapped the boy hard on his face.
Kame stopped laughing and stumbled backwards by the force of the blow. He couldn’t really understand what had just happened. His hands rose slowly to touch his aching face then he hesitantly looked up at Jin.
The man was staring blankly with an absolutely emotionless expression on his face then he turned on his heels and walked away leaving a completely shocked and confused Kame behind.
So yes, Kame was confused because he kind of wanted to cry when Jin hit him. Not because it physically hurt (it did, actually), but more probably because he somehow couldn’t bear the thought of making Jin disappointed.
He thought he really hated the man but something had changed lately. He could see now that the singer was not always arrogant and aggressive but could be gentle and caring. And when he saw the other man’s face when the idol slapped him, he suddenly felt guilty. He didn’t expect Jin to react that way and he didn’t really understand him.
Kame lay down on his bed and stroked his fingers over his face where he still felt his skin burning by the slap. Then he suddenly sat up. What if Jin wouldn’t talk to him anymore? ‘No, it can’t be!!! He still needs me as a dancer… at least. But that doesn’t mean he will talk to me.’ Kame thought.
Somehow he felt that it wasn’t enough. He wanted to talk to him, like in the arena today, he wanted to see the singer’s smile, that gentle smile he saw then. ‘Why can’t I stop thinking of him?’ the boy wondered. He got up and grabbed his cellphone. He sighed while he flipped it open. He hesitated for a moment then closed it and threw it on his bed. ‘No, I’m not ready for this.’
ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ
Jin was flirting with his glass of beer for an hour now but didn’t touch it at all. He felt a lump in his throat and he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to swallow the cold liquid if he tried.
So he was just staring at it and fidgeted with his cellphone nervously. “Stupid, stupid jerk!” he mumbled under his breath then cried out angrily. “HOW DARE YOU???”
Some faces turned to look at him at the small smoky pub but he didn’t care. ‘If he doesn’t call me in ten minutes to apologize, I won’t talk to him anymore. What the fuck was he thinking?’ Jin tapped his phone on the table and rubbed his forehead. ‘Or should I be the one to call him? I don’t know… I don’t understand a single thing anymore… wait… no, why the hell should I apologize? I DEFINITELY WON’T!!!’ Jin decided and twenty minutes later he found himself knocking on Kame’s door. Reason? Unknown.
When Kame opened the door, Jin winced in his head seeing the red spot on the boy’s face and felt himself guilty. But he won’t surrender, he was sure.
Kame looked at him in shock. “How… how… how do you know my address?” he stuttered.
“I called Ueda.” Jin mumbled quietly. ‘What am I doing here?’ he screamed in his mind.
“What are you doing here?” the boy asked and the singer smiled at hearing the same question coming from Kame’s mouth. ‘Maybe we are not that unlike after all.’
“Uhm… can I come in?” The boy stilled then stepped back to let the other in and closed the door behind him with slightly trembling hands.
Jin walked into the cozy living room and looked around. Then he turned back and let his eyes meet the boy’s confused ones. And at that moment he forgot everything he had been planning to say. “I… uhm… well… you skipped practice.” he blurted out nervously.
Kame blinked a few times and let out a small smile. “Well… I thought it would be a bit… you know… embarrassing… “ he said slowly, studying the carpet under his feet with utmost interest.
Jin took a step forward hesitantly and breathed deeply in and out. “Listen, I truly apologize for hitting you but I can’t say I regretted it.” he said. He felt his voice shaking a little but he hoped that the boy didn’t notice.
However, Kame did, and he looked up at the singer. His voice could be uncertain but his face was determined. The boy wanted to tell him that he, on the other hand, very much regretted what he had done but the words failed him. He looked back at the carpet with a small pout on his lips.
Jin sighed. “I really want to work with you, Kamenashi. But it doesn’t work this way, without compromising. You have to grow up and I have to be more patient. We both have to change. We can’t go on otherwise.” he said in a firm tone but then his voice softened. He reached out and lifted the boy’s chin with his hand. “Deal?”
Kame was staring at Jin’s deep brown eyes and felt mesmerized. He gulped hard. “Kame.”
“Huh?” the singer frowned.
“Call me Kame… I like it when you call me Kame.” he whispered and when he realized what he just said, his face reddened. “I m-mean … I like it. My nickname.” he stuttered.
Jin smiled. “Can I take it as a yes?”
Kame nodded. “I think so…”
“Well, then. See you at 8 p.m. at my place.” Jin said and turned to open the front door.
“What????”
Jin smirked. “Emergency meeting. We missed practice, remember? Don’t be late.” he said and he was already out of the apartment. Kame stared at the door and tried to calm his rapid heartbeating.
Then he snapped out of his daze when he heard his phone ringing. He picked it up but didn’t say anything, just listened to the man on the other end of the line. Then he hung up and let out a deep sigh. He grabbed his coat and left, he didn’t want to do what he had to, he just wanted to go through with it, as soon as possible.
ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ
Kame hated his job. ‘Job’ was not an appropriate term, anyway. This shit, he had let himself to be involved in. And ‘hate’ was not a good word, either, to express his feelings. He despised, he loathed and he wanted to quit it. But he couldn’t. When he said to Jin that his life could depend on a single phone call, he wasn’t exaggerating. He meant it.
Like this time. While he was walking down on the dirty and dark alley, he tried not to think about anything. Thinking was painful. Thinking made him realize how much he wanted to be elsewhere and tempted him to run away. But he couldn’t. Not until he had debts and dues towards those men.
After a few minutes he stopped in front of a man who was leaning on the dirty wall behind him. He smirked at Kame when he saw the younger one’s gloomy face.
“Don’t take it to heart, Kame. It can be worse.”
The boy chuckled sarcastically. “How?”
“Just do your job and it will be okay.” the man said and put his hand into his pocket. He pulled out a paper-wrapped package and handed it to Kame. Then he tapped the boy on his shoulders and turned to leave.
“Nakamaru.” Kame called out.
The man stopped, but didn’t face the boy. “I’m gonna quit at the end of the month. Wanna come with me?”
Nakamaru snorted. “As if I could. Don’t worry about anyone but yourself, Kame.”
The younger man looked at him sadly. “Think about it.”
Nakamaru didn’t answer as he started to walk again. Kame sighed and put the package into his pocket. He left the dark alley only to turn into another. His hands were wrapped around the package and it felt weird. It always did.
When he glimpsed the black car waiting, he walked there slowly and knocked on the glass. The man in the car pushed the button to pull it down and looked at Kame. The boy handed the package and waited for the money.
“Get in.“ the man said in a horse voice.
Kame’s eyes widened. “Why?”
“Don’t ask, just get in the car. Now.” the older man said. Kame felt as if a gun was pointing at him though he didn’t see any. He gulped. Then he walked on the other side and got in the black car.
ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ
A few hours later four man were sitting in the huge living room and were looking at each other embarrassedly. Ueda was smiling, Koki was frowning, Yamapi was gaping and Jin was wandering aimlessly in the room.
“You thought I was the one who beat up Kamenashi? Are you insane?” Yamapi asked in shock.
Jin stopped and looked at his friend nervously. “I’m sorry, Pi. It was… just… I got a bit carried away with my speculations. I’m sorry I didn’t trust you. I don’t deserve your friendship anymore.” the singer said with a miserable expression on his face.
“Drop the act, Akanishi! It’s not an audition, you know, and I’m not a fangirl either!” Yamapi snapped at him.
Jin’s face lit up. “So you’re not mad?”
“I’d like to be but I can’t. I know you too well.” the man sighed dramatically. “I guess I have no other choice than accept the fact that my friend is a baka, after all.”
Jin smacked his head but giggled. They all looked up when the doorbell rang.
“Ah, Kame has arrived.” Jin said cheerfully and walked to open the front gate to the boy.
The three men blinked and looked at each other. “Kame? Did he say 'Kame'?” Yamapi asked and the others nodded thoughtfully.
“HEEEEYYYYYY!!! THE PARTY IS HERE?” Kame shouted when he glimpsed Jin at the doorstep.
Jin stilled and stared at the other. The boy giggled at his expression then pushed Jin out of his way and entered. “WHOAAAA!!! EVERYONE’S HERE!!!! TAT-CHAN!!!! IT’S GOOD TO SEE YOU!!!!!!” Kame yelled and he burst out laughing. “Come on, don’t look at me as if I'm a ghost!”
The four man, however was staring at him as if he was one. Kame stopped in the middle of the room and swayed a little.
Jin walked to him and grabbed him by the elbow to turn him around. “Are you drunk?”
Kame snorted and looked at the man. “I’m not!! I swear I’m not. I’m just so happy that we made peace, Jin!” he said giggling and ruffled the singer’s hair.
‘Jin????’
Kame took a few steps forward and stopped in front of Jin so close that their bodies almost touched. “Jin, aren’t you happy as well?” he whispered huskily then raised his hands and put them on the man’s chest. “You know, I want to make you happy.” ha said seductively as he was stroking his fingers slowly over the singer’s torso.
Jin was standing frozen in one spot and held his breath. Ueda, Koki and Yamapi showed the same reaction.
“What the hell are you doing?” Jin moaned.
Kame giggled. “I’m seducing you, don’t you see?” then he slid his hands down on the man’s stomach and wrapped his arm around the other’s waist and grabbed his butt.
Jin cried out loudly. “Kamenashi, take your hands off me, what’s wrong with you?” he managed to utter.
Kame just grinned and didn’t obey. Instead, he tightened his grip on the other’s butt and pressed his body against him so firmly that the man felt something hard rubbing his groin through their clothes. He suppressed a groan.
The boy chuckled. “Why don’t you kiss me already? You’re so slow, Jin!” he whispered in a hoarse voice and licked his lips.
He bent closer to the man with eyes fixed on the other’s lips and Jin could feel the boy’s warm breath mingling with his own.
Kame’s lips softly grazed his own and that was what snapped Jin out of his trance. He knew he had to do something before his mind would go totally blank. He grabbed the boy’s arms abruptly and tore them off his waist then grabbed his shoulders firmly and shoved him to the nearest wall.
“What the hell are you thinking, Kamenashi?”
Kame winced at the pain in his back but then giggled quietly. “It’s Kame I said.” he mumbled and coughed a little.
The idol looked at him intently. Something was very wrong here. The boy’s clothes and hair were messy and dirty. His face was pale, moreover, almost transparent. His eyelids were half-closed and his hands were trembling. Jin clearly saw that sweatdrops were rolling down on his face.
Kame suddenly stopped giggling and glanced up at the man. As Jin finally looked into the brown orbs, his own eyes widened. Kame’s pupils were large.
“Are you drugged???”
Kame tried to chuckle, but the sound that left his mouth was nothing more than a very silent and painful moan.
Jin felt that his heart skipped a beat and he shook the boy’s shoulders. “What did you take? Kame!!! What was it? Do you hear me???” he yelled.
Kame’s eyes closed slowly and he started to slide down along the wall but Jin wrapped one of his arms around his waist and held him firmly while the other grabbed his chin and lifted it up. “Kame!!!!”
The boy opened his eyes, not completely though and tried to say something. He could only mouth the words but Jin didn’t understand them.
The singer shook him once more, trying desperately to keep him awake, but then he felt Kame’s body leaning on him with full weight and he could only tighten his grip on his waist to protect him from the fall when the boy lost consciousness.
Jin gently laid him on the floor and put his ears near the boy’s mouth. He didn’t hear Kame breathing and he felt panic taking over him. He turned to the three men who were standing dumbfoundedly and began shouting.
“CALL AN AMBULANCE!!!! NOW!!!!!!”
