:3 You cannot even imagine the smile on my face right now. Its... oh its lovely. :3 I love the detail of Esca calling him "Centurion" and WHY and your characterization of them both is really great (and totally helping me out...) Also: I am so calling someone "Brittunculus" tomorrow.
You are such a sweetheart, seriously. It means so much to me that you're enjoying it, and that you think the characterisations work.
Brittunculus is one of those amazing derogatory words the Romans were so good at. It just rolls off the tongue :D Ha ha, OMG, the thought of you calling someone that is hilarious - did they just insult me? IN LATIN??? ♥
Haven't read the book nor seen the movie but I was seriously in hopes somebody would write some great slash for it. LOVE this though this is the first chapter I've read. I must go back and read the rest. Excellent characterizations and I love the historical details. Looking forward to more!!
WOW, OMG this is marvelous!! *10* ..You' re doing a wonderful job with Marcus POV!
Esca's body was lean and compact, every muscle defined as though carved out with the chisel of a master sculptor. He was not marble, though. He was flesh, vital and warm, Funny, the first image that came into my mind when I read this was the Michelangelo's statue David.<3
“One wonders, with young Aquila and his Brittunculus, who is the master there, and who the slave.” kjdksjdskjdkjshdkjhfjh...lol, even random strangers notice that!
Oh oh OMG! THANK YOU!!! And wow, are you a wizard? The statue of David was EXACTLY what I was thinking of 0_o Not for Esca's build, no, but the presence David has (also, he's the giant slayer, ha ha - it's all so apt), and also that vein carved into the back of David's hand and going up his arm which is such a huge part of what makes the statue sublimely beautiful. Esca's arms are like that ♥
Ha ha, yes, foreshadowing XD Also, Marcus has a strong suspicion later on that it's not a random stranger who made that observation: it's Placidus ;D
So happy you like this. Really, really it means a lot to me ♥

Haha, typical of Placidus! No wonder Marcus wanted to beat the shit out of him but I think Esca is right, it's not worth it.
I can't wait for more updates and awesomeness :D
