Federal Jury Duty

I have to show up tomorrow at 8:00am in Los Angeles for federal jury duty. I would have been happy to serve if it was in San Luis, Santa Maria, or even Santa Barbara, but no, I have to go to downtown LA. I feel like I'm risking my life (the chances are higher that I'll be a victim of a crime in LA) to show up for this. I sure do hope this guy's

Down in LA, from Arroyo Grande? That's pretty ridiculous.

But the risk of violent crime in LA really isn't THAT bad, and depends heavily on which part you're talking about. I have plenty of friends down in that area, and the only crimes any of them have suffered were car break-ins (with the exception of Kathy, but she's from Compton, and that's not exactly representative of LA as a whole).
