After my last update from Hoi An we spent a couple of days in Mui Ne beach on the South-Eastern coast getting a taster of kite-surfing. It was good fun, but it could have been even better if our Russian instructor had a few more clues about teaching. We left Laos about a week ago, I was very sad to go as I enjoyed it so much. After our tubing adventures in Vang Vieng we headed north in another "cosy" minibus to the world heritage town of Luang Prabang. We treated ourselves in Thailand with 2 nights in a guesthouse 20km out of central Bangkok where we did a cookery course (hide your surprise Mum!!). We visited the local market, an experience in itself where there were lots of horrible foods including live eels occasionally wriggling so hard that they managed to jump out of the bucket they were ( Read more... )

We have nearly finished our time in the Arab world. Our two and a half weeks have gone by so fast but we have packed so much into it. Our tour with Intrepid may have involved more early starts than I like but on the whole it has been worth it.
