To be more coherent, I love your writing style, it's so frank and hilarious and yet at the same time hits home really hard when Arthur gets worried about Merlin...and GAH! It's amazing :D

Instead, it feels rather like "oh, so that's that then." Arthur decides to blame this on the shock and promise himself to realise it properly later, because he's quite sure this deserves trumpets and fireworks and he'll be damned if he'll let himself be cheated out of them.

i love how Arthur makes the effort to reach out to Merlin, and how Arthur is absolutely sure that he will not do anything to hurt Merlin.

I love this Arthur. The whole voice of a king passage, particularly, sent thrills through me. He can be so clueless and prattish, but when the time calls for it, he always does the right thing. And Merlin is TOTALLY A GIRL; oh, the hug! I thought he might kiss him, but this was actually so much better.

Am glad you liked the voice of a king bit, because I was afraid it seemed too insightful for Arthur. *g* Aaand I tend to think that mixing the magic-discovery with romantic overtures may be something of a bad idea (possible elements of coercion + the fact that poor Merlin is overwhelmed enough as it is) so this stayed nice and platonic. Kissing can wait until they've got used to it all.
