So I'm semi considering becoming a veggie head again. I cooked so much more when I was veggie, and the food was so much better. It's easy to just start eating prepared and crap food again, when eating meat. When I was veggie, I had virtually no prepared foods in the house, and only had things like bouillon base for prepared foods. Everything ( Read more... )

i just got inspired to try to make this soup cause it sounded yummy.. cept i dont know if jamaican curry powder exists in Aust, or maybe it was that the store i went to didnt have any.. so i put in thai red curry powder..

halfway through cooking my housemate said the soup didnt have enough flavour, so we thought it best to put the rest of the sachet of thai red curry paste in.. needless to say now that it has been made it is WAY hot and doing a whole bowl of it is going to be a struggle!! haha..

Hmm, that would be good with Thai Curry, I didn't think of that. Jamaican curry is pretty similar to Indian Curry, just more aromatic and less uhhmm, pungent (the best description I can think of??). Kind of like the difference in regular vs. Jasmine rice :) I just like Jamaican curry better. I also found I needed to add more salt than I wrote in this recipe, the flavors didn't really meld all that well without it. I'm definitely going to be making more, the first batch only lasted about 1 hour :)
