Well, last night sucked pretty badly. Not only is my Pestikens gone, but for the first time in nineteen years, there were no kitties in my bed. I'm so used to them being there that I automatically keep track of where they are so I don't roll over on them... not having any was really messing with me, every time I'd move I'd wake up in a panic ( Read more... ) -

And now I am catless.
Pestilence, my beloved kitty companion of the past nineteen years, was purring in my arms before the sedative put him to sleep before the vet gave him The Shot. His bladder tumor was bigger than cat bladders ever get, and it was spreading, and despite his pigheaded kitty pride about never showing weakness, he was in pain.

I wish Pestilence could tell me when it's time. He doesn't act like he's in any kind of discomfort at all, yet I know he's got a tumor growing inside him.
On the one hand, I don't want my kitty to suffer at all, and as much as I don't want to I will get him his shot right away once he starts suffering.

So, yesterday I took Pestilence back to the vet to see how his bladder infection is doing. The antibiotics should have cleared it up by now, but he’s still peeing everywhere. Boy, do I feel like an ass. My sweet little Pestilence kitty just knocked over a cup full of ice water at my desk. When I got up and went into the kitchen, I actually thought about taking the cup with me as I normally do, but I decided not to.
