Three days after being brought into the Order of the Laurel, I thought I might mention some of the philosophical work that has informed my position on things.

It was quite useful to have these texts and links in one place.

Certainly, I can't argue with anything I've read here. (Well, OK, I could - but only for the sake of arguing, and I just don't feel the need for debate right now.) Reading these has helped me hone some of my own thoughts on the matter. It also expanded my reading list... again.

I think discussion of this topic is something I'd like to see more of, in a variety of situations and settings. I think I'll start with my Shire.

First, congratulations.

Second, a simple philosophy I try to follow. "If no one is bleeding, why are you screaming?" In other words, there are few true crises(?) everything else is an inconvenience.
