Could you trap it perhaps? Maybe stick out a bowl of sugar water? I don't know if that actually works, but I imagine the scenario to go something like this:
Fly: Mmm, sugar water...OMGZ! Human gonna kill meeeeeeeeeee!
So are the walls paper thin, or does your flatmate have two 120dB alarms? Hm.. Or you're just a light sleeper.. Or you had a premonition that the alarms would go off and was already in the process of waking up. Or the fly woke you. Maybe it was whispering into your ear while you were sleeping, boasting about how it single-handedly (if flies had hands) switched on both alarms, because your flatmate had ofcourse turned them off as a courtesy to you. Hmm... so many possible options.
Well my flatmate is a bit airheaded, but she aplogized for having left them on. But hmm. Her room is relatively far away from my room. But I think both my door and her door were open. That and her alarms really are loud.
