I myself am unsure as to whether or not I want kids. On the one hand, it would be nice to have them around in my old age, as part of a family. But on the other hand, that's an awful lot of responsibility, and I don't think I could take it if they wound up as screwed up as I am.

First, I should point out the most immediate error in your response: Yes, people DO care if I have kids. I've seen it many times: someone I know (usually someone I know well, who should know better) is shocked when I say I won't breed. And when I explain why, they insist I should anyway. This is what pisses me off, and why I feel the need to rant about it: because most of the people I talk to AREN'T willing to accept my feelings, but continue to badger, pester, and cajole. Obviously, you are not one of these people. But I DO get that a lot
