These are 8 days away and all the campaigning I've seen has been 1 poster, so I went looking at the candidates on line. http://www.choosemypcc.org.uk/

You have seen a poster, that beats me. It has been mentioned on local radio but no reference to who is running has been made. When I looked them up (your link goes to the same place) I was not exactly encouraged. Mainly as it is clear that most people will ovte on party lines (so conservative around here). I am also puzzled as to why this is being done, elected officials having any bearing on local policing sounds insane especialy given the background (or lack there of) of most candidates.

I'm hoping that it won't be on party grounds because it only effects one element of party policy allowing people to vote on that subject

Yep, there is one ex police and the only other one (six total) with any previous contact with say criminals and police procedure is an defence barister.

The first I heard about it was when the polling card for the previous occupant of the house came through.

We have 2 candidates, one of them's tory and the other one's labour. I don't think I want to vote for either of them.
