I have moved to Central Florida, which is part of the reason this blog and other things have been neglected. To find a house took three months, with weekly drives of 200 miles one way, (no time to blog) and then to buy the house took another two months. Now that I'm finally living in the My-house-in-the-woods, remodeling has commenced. I'd like to

It always amazes me at the lack of discipline and professionalism that currently passes for business as usual with contractors. What happened to getting the job done and doing it right? I know some people are dead set on doing things one way and then change their minds and that can be frustrating, but it seems like contractors just don't do the jobs well or quickly like they used to do. I've one friend who has been trying to get her upstairs done and the house painted for over a year -- over a year. It should have been done in days and she's still fighting them.

Good luck. Stay on them and keep them to their tasks. I hope it turns out well.

I know what you mean. I've only been in the house for three weeks and there have been issues every day so far. I've never had this much work done before, so this is a learning experience for me.

I want to try peppers because we love them, and herbs and tomatoes and whatever would grow in Florida. We have so many insects, so it'll not be easy.
