Yeah and they sleeeep, so that makes me think they're at least slightly at comfort, which is my main concern.
I just gave them a second feeding, the healthier one took to it well again and the sicker one was like NO WAY PLZ but I kind of rubbed the stopper against the side of his mouth, thinking about what you said with gums, and I also held him the way you have to hold a cat when you have to give him a pill or medicine, and he kinda just accepted it after a minute, so he ate a little. :D
And once again I rubbed those tushies, and nothing happened - except very angry little meows!
Yay, eating! The friend who used to be a breeder said that she usually found a damp paper towel worked for getting them to go when rubbing the tushies, but it may just require the special "momma cat" touch.
Thank goodness I didn't have to deal with that stage when I was fostering! The "learning to use the litter box" stage and the couple days of panic when momma cat escaped and I had 4 4 week old kittens to deal with without momma were hard enough. Fortunately they were old enough to eat on their own at that point, and just needed some extra formula added to their food to make it higher nutrition for them until we managed to catch her again. I've never been brave enough to volunteer for the really little kittens, just the ones with a momma around to take care of them.

I'm sure they appreciate it, in their own kittenish kinda way...
