This morning we drove from Monterey along the 17 mile drive, which is a very pretty beach and golf course. We then drove to Point Lobos which was an amazing park. After a kind of rough night in which my body was time zone confused, i woke up to a sunrise over San Francisco with Daddy photographing it and me. We had a Chinese breakfast and then went on a long steep walk along the ocean with Malcolm. He told me that the succulent i like is called "ice plant." Today has been a super long day. Ron and i got up at 4:45 for him to take me to the airport. My flight left at 6:40 and got into Chicago at 8:30 or so. I then had four hours to kill. I just find it funny that today my co-teacher says to me, "do you know who you remind me of? Melissa Gilbert." It just cracks me ups. I always got told that as a kid and then every few years since high school. The other funny thing about it is that her birthday is one day before mine (different years obviously).

As the final part of the Pennsic story. Last night we were to return Caewlin's truck to him. We are driving 195 toward New Bedford, Ron hits the gas after shifting into fifth in the middle of the highway and nothing happens. He tries again and still we are slowing down. No more water bearing today. I went up on the hill to watch the field battle. We were very out numbered at the beginning of the battle but not so much so by the end.
