You are extremely perceptive, young lady. I did toy with the gooey schmoopy type of farewell, and then the hard and fast fuck type of farewell, and neither of them seemed right, so I was left with this anti-climactic (in both senses!) version that actually seemed to fit the characters a little better. And the contrast between the Tuesday night and Wednesday morning was quite deliberate.

Don't despair, though. There are two chapters to go, and you never know what might happen...

Thanks for commenting - I love how people are reacting to the story!

Two parts! How lovely! For a moment, I thought that Charlie was going to spill his guts or that Rory would give away some inkling of feelings, but no. They both have to be stupid men and not say anything. This is sooooo good. I can't wait for another update! My heart is breaking for Charlie. Poor thing thinks so little of himself and Rory's distance doesn't help. I certainly hope that ROry eventually tells Charlie how he feels, even if they can't be together because of their lifestyles.

Thanks for commenting! I did think about the kiss thing, but it just didn't fit - too girly, too corny. Then I had to work out how to get them to part on bad terms, and it just flowed from there.

As to the future... well, you'll just have to wait five more days.

To be continued. This was almost my favorite part - LOL!
Hey, can you write this fic forever? Huh, prettyplease? So AWESOME I can hardly stand it. I'm looking forward to seeing what sneaking sneak Ken is up to - perhaps he's Daddy's boy? Meant to keep tabs on Rory for the geezer, am I right? I also can't wait for Charlie & Rory to kiss. :)

Be careful what you wish for... given the glacial speed at which I work, I may well be writing this forever!

Darn... I came back here to rant at you about how Friday was NEVER COMING and I want Chapter 17 (and 18?!) NOW!!!! But also to suggest a title if you do start a new series based on what happens after. Of course, it all depends on how this ends, and whether you decide to follow "canon" or not (i.e., does DriveShaft succeed, and does Charlie become an addict, and, of course, do Charlie and Rory somehow remain in contact). I know you were looking for another alliterative title (ala "Debts, Dates and Denials"), and this one might have been suggested already, but I was trying to think of something... started thinking "Angst and...", but it kept coming up "Angst, Drugs and Rock and Roll", which of course led to the proverbial "Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll", and, darn it, doesn't that just fit? *G* You know it does... write it, please! *bats eyelashes at you*

Well... it would fit part of the sequel, but there are 28 years to go (NOT all of which will be written about, believe me!). It's not easy. I've been trying for months and I haven't come up with anything that I've liked. I may end up just calling it DDD2 until I find the right title. I do have a preference for three words beginning with the same letter for my series titles, but I may have to cave in eventually.

Thank you for making the suggestion though - I'm glad that people are interested enough to give an opinion!

Ummm.... yes. Sort of. Because I've been writing it as prompts so far, there are bits and pieces scattered all through that period, but there are clumps (story arcs) around winter 1999/00, summer 2001, winter 2002/03, winter 2003/04, summer 2006 and summer 2015 (2028 is really more of an epilogue to the entire series). Now that people have made it quite clear that they want a narrative rather than C100 prompts, I'll start working on them (I'll try to do it in chronological order but may not succeed). Some may only be one chapter, others may expand a bit.
