Berlin officials have relaxed social distancing restrictions here a tiny bit; now people are allowed to sit briefly in a public space while they are out for air.

This adjustment to the law was made knowing that beautiful weather was imminently upon us, and keeping people locked indoors might incite rage.

But what this has translated into is

It’s supposed to hit 20C, today. It’s been really quiet in the neighborhood. Streets are mostly empty. Little, if any, foot traffic. I have some work to do on my Ducati, but there’ll be no interaction with anyone for that. The brief amount of air I’ll see will be welcome ... tho I do admit I’m nervous about it.

Going outdoors has somehow morphed into a dystopian science fiction odyssey. I venture out into the plague infested wastelands about every other day. It's a hassle to disinfect everything when I get home - phone, keys, hands, change clothes, wash mask - but the fresh air and exercise is worth it.

There’s still a brisk chill in the air, here. I’m a bit cold blooded and so I seem to stay indoors. At least for the time being. I’ve been building a more comfortable bicycle for the summer .. the racing bike I built is a real Frankenstein... it’s reasonably fast but not entirely comfortable to ride. And so, I wanted a second “couch-like” bike. It’s almost done. When the weather turns nicer I’ll likely get out more. I’ve wondered what your neighborhood looks like.
