So, if everyone says different parts of my story need work, but none of them say the same kind of fix is needed, can I believe Stephen King and safely ignore all of them?

...Or does that mean everything about my story needs work? :D

Hahahaha....sounds like a good question to raise at a Creative Writing class or panel.....

All stories always need work. :P

Yep, that's true. I'll definitely be taking all suggestions into mind.

...uhhh, does that even make sense? I feel like I combined two sayings.

"Taking into consideration" and "keeping in mind." Yay, malaphors!

Means you listen to the good advice and ignore the dumb advice. 'S what I always did with group critiques. Oh, that's a good idea, I'll do that. Wow, that's dumb, I'm going to ignore it and feel superior because I would never give advice like that.

...You can tell I'm sick, I'm being even more blunt than usual.

Neil Gaiman remarked on this at one point. He said that people can generally tell when something needs work in a story, but are crap at telling you exactly what that something is.

*muses* That's definitely true of me in many regards. It takes me forever to get to the bottom of what is really bugging me about something in life. Thanks for sharing that!

So far, I haven't been giving much critique as opposed to me going, "Ooh, I like this" and "Ooh, I bet this person is that." :D

Hey, whatever you want to say works. Some people haven't told me anything, but as long as they ask for more, I take it as a good sign. :D Just keep reviewing the way you read, and I'll get an idea from that already.
