Caden was born almost two weeks ago (6/9). No induction necessary! And no NICU, complications, or any surprises after birth. In all, Caden is healthier than I was daring to hope

Ahhhh *tackleglomp* How are you? You must be exhausted. I hear babies are exhausting.
I'm dying for details (and pictures, if you're comfortable sharing them!) but do take your time, RL is so much more important, especially right now. ♥♥♥
The first week was really tough, especially with raging/changing hormones (from giving birth) and the lack of sleep. But now we're settling into more of a routine, except I wish Caden would sleep longer intervals at night!
I do plan on posting pics soon. Just too lazy right now to upload them to photobucket and then link to them here. Is there an easier way to upload photos here without them being massive?
I apparently slept through the night for the first time at ten days old. What can I say, I had my priorities right.
You uploaded some to Facebook, right? (She asks, as if she didn't make her brother show her the photos you posted.) You should just be able to use Facebook as an image host. If Facebook doesn't automatically give you a link, try right clicking to see if there's a "copy image location" option. Then just put that url in the img src code here on LJ. (I'm assuming that will work, but I have no experience with Facebook. But give it a try.)
If there isn't a "copy image location" option, let me know; there's other work arounds, but that's the easiest way.
:) Thank you! And because I'm too lazy to text or send a separate email, just wanted to let you know that the doc appt yesterday went fine. Caden had gained weight--now 5 pounds 9 ounces (was 5'4 at last appt) and half an inch, so he's 19 inches long.
His hearing screen today was another fail, though. They are sending me to the experts at Children's Hospital for another retest. They don't think he's deaf, necessarily, but there's too much interference (like the sound of his own breathing) for him to pass. And couldn't check if fluid is in his ears because the lady couldn't get the machine to measure correctly--too small of ear canals (common predicament for people with DS).
How was the super hot day and mowing? Did the heat hold off for you?
Thank you for the update. :) Good that he's still gaining weight and growing.
Mom said Jaws failed his hearing tests at first, too. (Didn't Stephanie have a problem with her ear canals??)
It didn't get as hot as they said it would, but I'm glad. We got the mowing done in the morning, so we were just stacking branches/brush and cleaning toilets in the heat of the day. Still saying it'll be 100+ for Sat and Sun, though. And Sun's the day I'll be spending lots of time in the truck. Baking day! lol.

I can only imagine how busy you are and how much sleep you need. As my aunt said, once you have kids, you never sleep again, lol.
I'm happy for you two--no, three! :D

Haha, that's proving to be true so far. Somehow, I get the most sleep between 6:00 am and 10:00 am.
