It hurts too much for us to be apart. It may be difficult, but I'm willing to expend the extra effort to make it work. Being with her just feels so right. I hope I'm not setting myself up for another fall.
She was the one who said she wasn't happy in the first place, but I think a lot of that was my fault. I needed to be more willing to make compromises. I've realized now that I care about her enough to do that. We had a long discussion about this and we decided to try again.
If you're doing this while being aware of the fact that she is not right for you, then I thought much better of you. Loneliness is probably not a good thing to bring two people together.
I'm not with her to assuage my loneliness. I'm with her because I genuinely care about her. We have plenty in common but our personalities can sometimes clash. That doesn't mean we aren't right for each other, just that it takes a little more effort to maintain the relationship. I'm optimistic about how things are going. We've had a couple of really good days together.
As long as you understand that it will take work BECAUSE you are not as similar, it is probably not a bad idea. The most important thing in ANY relationship, be it with similar people or opposite people, is that there be a desire to make it work. If both of you have that desire, it will work. It has to, because you want it to. I honestly think that most relationships fail because people stop wanting to make things work. They get discouraged with trying to adapt to another person and trying to become someone else; it is much easier to harbor everything you find important (though it might not be) and stay in your comfort zone
