oddly enough, Hugh didn't appear in the ads on TV for the movie when it was in theaters, so I never knew he was even in it until much later!

probably he wasn't famous enough at the time to have his name used in the ads!
How things change.. :)

well he HAS been in things before House. I liked him in British comedies for years before. (I'd also like him in me...ooops, did I say that?)

he was quite famous in England, from what I've gathered, and maybe there were people who knew him from his previous works, but he wasn't the "big name" he is now.
I guess the producers wanted to spend Quaid's name much more than his.

also... I soo get your comment. ;)

funny because I saw that movie a while ago, when it got out on DVD. I had liked it a lot, but that's about it.

THEN, several years later, I finally start watching House. so I get interested in Hugh, and watch his bio... I do see FofP and go "huh?"

I could NOT, for the life of me, remember him.

Then I watch Supernatural, check out Jared and see FotF and go "huh?" AGAIN.

yep. not remembering him either.

so one day when FotP got on TV, I check it out and it all came back. funny how it was suddenly way more interesting!

ohh Hugh is a June baby too? cool!

LOL. I know!
I have the same reaction every time I see one of the actors I know from TV series in a movie I've previously seen (last one: one of Grey's anatomy doctors was in "the wedding planner" with Jennifer Lopez). And I'm all... dude, what?

It's like when you are planning to get married and suddenly you start noticing all these wedding dress shops that have always been there, right along the road, without you ever seeing them!

I guess that our brain is really selective and focuses to what gets its interest at the moment.

I liked the movie much more than what I was expecting, and not only because of Hugh. It was a nice story. :)

And yep, he was 49 on the 11th.

agh, that shot of Jared's half-consumed body in the sand was awful. eww.
He was cute in this, but man, was it hard to see its face! I love his bangs and his shy attitude in this, but this time he (or his director) overplayed it a bit..
