While I'm no expert on SCA protocol, I see no reason why there should not be a moment of silence at some point during your first court.

He was king of the East three times, IIRC, and his passing should not go unrecognised by the populace of the East. And you, as a member of his household, are the best person to call for such a tribute to his memory.

I know this Saturday will be difficult, but I know you will make him proud. I'm sure that your experiences with him helped to prepare you to sit in that seat you'll be ascending to, and there's a certain fitness to the fact that you'll be where you'll be, doing what must be done.

I have been startled to realize, over the last few months, how much of my understanding of what royalty is and does dates from my time in AEthelmearc, and from Morguhn above all.

And, as I was there to support him during his last two reigns, I have such wonderful people around to support me. Thank you all.

When you introduced me to Mairi, via the garb page for your reign, I had no idea who she was. I didn't know His Grace hardly at all, but I DID respect him, and think highly of him. I'm SO sorry for your loss, for the Society's loss.

I know that when someone I love has died, I have often found solace in little kids. I'll have a 7-week old at Coronation that anyone who isn't contagious is welcome to cuddle. I know he'll grow up in a Society Morguhn had a signifcant role in shaping.
