I thought you might like to know that we will be setting aside a small room at the event for meditation/memorial writing/etc for His Grace. We will have a framed photo. and Countess Mara will be providing a blank book. We will also have black ribbons along with green and yellow ones at gate that people could wear.
As a herald...klsiegelSeptember 25 2008, 01:44:39 UTC
...you can display his arms draped in black, or place his arms on a sable lozenge (called a hatchment).
And as a Scadian with many fond memories of Morguhn, I wish you well, Your Royal Highness, and will be thinking of you and praying for you and His Royal Highness as you take the thrones.
I'm struck for some reason by the obvious fact that usually when heirs claim the throne, it is in fact in mourning - for usually heirs only take the throne upon the death of their parents. Somehow, I have this feeling that His Grace will be there with you, as you take the place for which he trained you so well.
with deepest sympathy, Lady Fiona MacNeill and Lord Jean-Louis Pepin de Namour

Realized that might have been unclear. You don't have to be a herald to do this, of course; speaking heraldically, this is a thing that can be done to commemorate the person who is not there. When my husband had to do this - ironically, at a Principality Investiture in Calontir - I believe he said the hatchment was propped up on the dais, presumably in the place where the owners would have been standing or sitting.
I'm so sorry that you won't be able to grieve as you wish. I hope you find much comfort in memory, and a rich source of joy in the time you spent together.
I'm so sorry to hear. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of his friends and family. I remember camping with you guys at that Pennsic, and regret that I won't have the chance to meet him again.
