You know, I haven't really commented on the situation in New Orleans because well, because I don't really know what to say. It's deeply distrubing and totally appalling, which is an understatement in and of itself. And I don't even know what's "appropriate" to say about it all. Lord of the Flies is exactly what it is. They arent any different. They were abandoned, starving and dying amongst dead bodies with no hope and sight and the harsh realization that no one gives a shit about the poor and black. Society broke down and so did they. Without support or law enforcement and societal system functioning they are left in anarchy. it is disgusting. If a hurricane were to ever hit New York City or if Los Angeles ever finally sinks you know it wouldnt happen this way.

I take your point Brett, and I do agree that the cameras capturing the images of the black people stranded on rooftops with SOS signs probably did do a lot to help those people. But then there is the other side of the coin... like the photos of Bush Jr. holding the little black kids that have been plastered all over the news. Oh look... Bush's ass has been saved yet again in the most obvious and contrived way... but it seems like people want to believe that he's genuine.
