I know?! I didn't know who she is so I googled her, and she was a total extremist heavily involved with the black panthers in the 60s and 70s. I think it's because I answered what feminism means to me as being "reevaluating race, class and gender, and redistributing the power." I guess that equals black communist?
Seriously. I didn't think those ideals were communist. Or "black" for that matter. This quiz is dumb. And I can't stand the spelling of wymyn. I am a feminist, but I do not fit any of the stereotypes in this quiz. I think this is the kind of thinking about feminism that makes young women not want to identify with it as a way of life or philosophy. Boo to stereotypes.
It's a progressive spelling of "women" because language is oppressive since it was formulated by men. We are not derivatives of men as in wo-men, but we are our own beings, hence wymyn. I understand the thought behind it, but it still gets on my nerves. Maybe it shouldn't. Meh.
