In Dubai Airport, waiting for a connecting flight. We left SP at 7 this morning (Local time) stopped on the Tarmac at Kolkatta for an hour, then arrived here a few hours ago. It's been a long day. Flight back to LHX is at 2 something tomorrow morning. we'll be wasted by the time we get home, I rekon. Doesn't seem very far way now. Bet it's cold...

We're in Singapore. Staying in a lovely and cheap hotel at Robertson Quay (near to Clark Quay). It has a pool overlooking the river and we blagged a free brekky today too ( Read more... )

We're in Tana Rata in the Cameron Highlands, staying at a place called Father's Guest House which is very pleasant. Our accommodation is a room with a double bed inside a nissan hut. Brekky is served every morning; the eggs are cooked to perfection, bacon is tasty and most importantly you get a big pile of baked beans ( Read more... )

We just spent a very relaxing and enjoyable few days on an island called Bulon, close to Taratao Nat Park (but not in it avoiding the 200Bht park fee and crap but expensive accomodation there). Spent a lot of time on the beach, met some lovely English people, Gordon and Pam (most on the island are German for some reason...) and did some snorkelling ( Read more... )

I've just found out that people have died recently in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam following an outbreak of Avian Flu, which seems to affect chickens and people. The cases all seem to be well north of where we are, but it's a bit of a worry. We have about a week left in the 'land of smiles'. The last few days we've spent on Koh Muk in Trang Province. We stayed at Had Farang (foreigner beach) which has a pretty stretch of sand surrounded by palm trees.
