I'm 42 and I've been seeing the same guy for 9 years and we don't even live together so obviously I have commitment issues. But I can see the value of marriage, and if two people are good for each other, age shouldn't matter. But I don't think anyone should be asking someone elses permission to take a college class. That's not a healthy relationship, and you're right to be irked, or concerned.
