I have a question on what computer I should get. I'm an art major, and I don't really feel like I need a laptop, and I could just do with a desktop. So what should I get, a laptop? A desktop? A Mac or a PC?

definitly mac if you're going to be doing design at alfred since the lab is full of macs.

i like desk tops, personally. but i also want a laptop, lol, so i dunno. but really it depends on what you're going to get. i RECOMMEND a dell desk top. but if you're going to go with a lap top, you should get a mac. :)

You don't really need a laptop at Alfred, although the portability can be nice, and it would let you take your own computer to the library and not worry about whether there are any free in the labs. You can also then take it home over breaks. Desktops though tend to have more memory and can be more customizable.
I'm not really a Mac person, but they are better for art and design, so in your situation, I'd say a Mac.

if you do art and design you should get a mac. the duo cores will take longer to be obsolete. if you dont have a lot to spend get a mac mini. they are small enough to take home for breaks, but they are still a desktop and are cheap.
