It had been too damn long, and he was so far gone that he'd very nearly propositioned the bartender who had handed him his drink.

But the memories stirred up by his recent hallucinations left him less inclined than ever to just find a warm and willing body and take care of his physical needs. Despite that it had been years since the last time, just the thought of another man's bed left him cold and feeling somehow like an adulterer.

In the end, he didn't act on either impulse, just found an out of the way corner to nurse his drink. And if he cast a few furtive glances at men who caught his eye... well, what harm was there in looking?

Gabriel wasn't actually working that evening- so why on earth he'd gravitated to the 'Nest was just... well, it said far too much about his social life right now, i.e. the lack of one. Still, he was used to going solo, and having a haunt to return to was a strange experience. But maybe it was more than that too, maybe it was just... the possibilities of the place. Greed had always been open about what he allowed in the place and Gabriel knew that first hand ( ... )
