Hobbiton

My OH took me to Hobbiton for my birthday. :-) I enjoyed it greatly and to his surprise so did hubby. Despite grey clouds and rain on arrival, the sun came out and the 2 hours were spent in rather pleasant weather. And to prove it, here are a few photos.

It's very well worth the money, which isn't something you can say of that many commercial ventures. Also, the iSite at Matamata is worth a visit and a photo! A big plus is that you don't have to cross over from the South Island to get there. :-)

Very true! There's also a motel not too far away that has accommodation in a plane, train, boat, or hobbit house which I'd like to stay in at the same time. Any of them would do nicely.

Wow! Now they are cool! We'd stayed in a very boringly normal motel in Matamata. I feel deprived. :-(

Oh, I am very envious indeed - it looks so pretty! Did you manage a lemonade in the Green Dragon, or is it not set up for that sort of thing? And happy birthday! How do I always miss that...? Excellent present from A,that! *g*

I had ginger beer and Alan had a beer, made especially for the Green Dragon/Hobbiton. All part of the admission price.

I have a birthday every year. :-)
