Summertime Walk

Jul 11, 2011 19:05

Wow! It has really been a long time since I updated. I thought I would make a photo post of today's early afternoon walk.

There is a small lake about ten minutes walk from our place. It is beautiful in every season, frozen in Winter, full of flowers in Spring, red and golden in Autumn (my favourite), and this is how it looks now:

Wow, what great pictures! I particularly liked the angry swan, with the head lowered like a bull. And the spider! Eek, the spider!

The swan was really scary, it was flapping his wings and keeping the geese at a distance. Do you think I should warn for spiders before the cut?

Yes, we had some Canadian friends over some time ago, and they were very excited to see them. Apparently they thought they were only found in Canada. I don't know when or how they were introduced to the UK. Well, that is what the internet is for!

There was a sign in St. James park that explained the presence of Canadian Geese there. Can't really remember it exactly, but it was probably something like they were brought over as a gift. Because introducing foreign animals or plants to an environment is a great present. Or something.
