Thanksgiving Break^WBroken

I was really hoping that Thanksgiving was going to be a much needed break for me. In some ways, it was.. but in a lot ways it wasn't. Spending time with my mom on Black Friday was fun. Seeing my relatives from my mom's side of the family that I see maybe once a year was great. (Pictures are here). My sister really annoyed me at one point. We were ( Read more... )

It really is quite difficult, especially since all of this happened quite suddenly. I talked to my mom today and I guess he hasn't improved much. They've quit the chemo treatment in hopes that his appetite might come back once all of the chemo is out of his body. I guess the treatment really alters your taste and smell.

Thanks. I definitely know they love me and are proud of me, but its still very difficult..

I would not have held anything in. I know just how you feel. My mother and sister are like your sister.

I used to not hold stuff in, but it only caused a lot more trouble and drama with my sister.

Hmm, which is worse being pissed off or expressing yourself? Which would make you feel better.

Whenever Chris visits his relatives, he gets to fix all their computers too. Which means not just fixing them, and removing the sixty spyware/adware programs that got installed, but teaching them how to use it in the first place.

I'm sorry your grandfather is doing badly. I'm not as close to my grandparents as you are to yours, but I think it will be pretty hard to see them go through that.

And I'm sorry about your dad too. At least you were there for your mom to talk to. I bet she really needs that right now.

*hugs*

Only sixty? Man, I remember going to some peoples houses when I did consulting and they had 100-150. It was insane. I told one guy (when his wife wasn't around) that he really needs to quit visiting the free porn sites and letting them install things.

When I fixed my grandma's computer, it was funny because she was excited and walked back towards my mom and said "I'm alive again!!". That made me smirk. For being as old as she is, she really caught on quick to the whole computer thing. She checks her balances for her savings account online, e-mails, prints photos, plays games, etc etc!

Thanks, I appreciate it Jason. *hug*

Yeah, my grandmother is going through the dementia thing too. It's painful to watch her slowly lose more and more of herself. Sorry that you have to experience it.

I guess the good news is the MRIs came back and they don't see anything like dementia. They think at this point it's just from him being so weak from not eating... :\

Well, Dementia doesn't show up on an MRI. MRI only shows a physical state, not a mental state of anyone, but hopefully family matters work for you. *hugz*
