Also, can somebody explain to me why people flock to stand outside of hospitals where famous people died? What inner need does this fulfill?

they have this desire to be near someone famous, to be near something important, so that they can feel important by association...

Boogles my mind too.
I remember when I still worked in the hospital we had a "celebrity" I laughed so hard to see the press standing right below the celebs window and never had a clue how close they were
