[There's the sound of something metal falling and a yelp from Tony, followed by a scramble to pick up the phone.] Oh, shit, is it time already?

Yes, it is. What did you just drop?

Nothing, just a wrench. [And a welding torch. But it wasn't on!] Uh, give me a couple minutes to clean up before we leave?

Of course. There are no reservations at a burger joint. [Which works nicely for them.] I'll be in the living room.

Great, hold on a sec. [Tony turns off the phone and heads to the basement bedroom he uses when he's too tired/lazy to go upstairs. Which is often. Ten minutes later he's upstairs, dressed in more socially acceptable clothes than what he normally works in. There's a splotch of grease on his neck that he either missed or couldn't wash off, though.]

You better not have left without me.

I'm halfway out the door. [She smirks at him from the couch.] All heat-producing tools are turned off?

Don't get cute with me. [He smirks back, going over to stand beside the couch.] Last I checked they were. I also peed and turned off all the lights. Everything good?

You'd worry if I stopped. [She stands smoothly, kissing his cheek as she takes his hand.] I'm ready when you are.

Maybe a little bit. [Aww they're going out holding hands, so precious. Tony might die from the overload of relationship-ness before they even make it to the restaurant.] You planned the date, you lead the way.

[Don't make her regret this, Tony. It's just holding hands. She leads him out of the house and in the diner's general direction.]

You just can't remember how to get to the diner, can you?

I concede that may also be part of the reason.

[She leads him for a bit longer and reconsiders.]

[Pepper laughs quietly and guides him to their left.] Nearly every day.

Hm, doubtful. But if it makes you happy, I promise to behave. No one will die or lose any of their clothing, at least. Maybe a little bit of clothing loss. But nothing more.
