They couldn't do more Fades without De Caestenacke, could they? And I believe Agents of SHIELD has been renewed, so he's here making more dosh instead of there. BTW it's high up on my Netflix queue so who knows, I might be squeezing about it with you.
I would never put *anything* past fans, but I don't think that 0 comments is a social stigma--that would require people following up posts so they could point and snicker about nobody commenting.
The Fades was cancelled far prior to the Marvel casting, so it didn't matter. I'm happy to see Iain getting work though, as he was very impressive in that little Sci Fi gem.
AoShield has been renewed? Wow. I guess it's good enough. It's a shame it's not AMAZEBALLS. But then again, so little is these days. *heavy sigh*
Ripper Street? Nooooooooooooooooo! I haven't even got to watch any of the latest season yet but I'm so looking forward to it. As a Drake/Jackson shipper I think I'm one of five fans so I know the feeling. :(
I never shipped anyone on Whitechapel but always found it to be an excellent show.
As to Luther... I am content. Yes, I'd have loved them to continue to make more, of course I would have, but the ending worked for me.
But we are getting a second season of Bletchley Circle. Thank you, ITV. \o/
Yeah. I'm sorry, man. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. DRAKE/JACKSON 4evah. It's really gutting me. Whatever issues the series has in terms of historical accuracy or whatever, it was still THE SHOW I looked forward to the most every week and I have watched each of the first season's eps at least a half dozen times. It's one you can rewatch and glean new insights.
I am content with Luther. But again, it was such a great show, in light of all these other shows being cancelled, it feels like a loss. At least Luther got to complete the story!!! Whitechapel and I'm sure, Ripper Street are going to be left with questions, stories, cliffhangers! ARG!!!!
Yay Bletchley Circle! (Which was quite popular stateside, thanks to PBS. It seems if PBS shows it, it gets more traction. See: Sherlock & Downton, not to mention Endeavour, Lewis, etc. Whereas BBC-A has significantly less viewership and impact.)
I'm so annoyed by this--the seasons are short to begin with, and then they're canceled so quickly. Whitechapel was dark and gruesome in its last season, and I only made it partway through the second episode of S2 Ripper Street before turning away; I'll go back when I'm in a better mood.
I'm very annoyed by this. If the US can produce 22 episodes of total schlock, you'd think the Brits could muster a few more seasons of their best stuff. I waited SO LONG - like one does - for Ripper Street. And now, six eps in, I have only two to look forward to, and well, it's upsetting to me right now. Silly, but there you have it.

YT season just makes it painfully clear every year that creating something really good is HARD. It is *more* than three times as hard to make eight excellent episodes than 22 lousy ones, especially if said lousiness is caused by, as it were, mediocre mad scientists reassembling episodes out of unpromising criminal corpses.
OH GOD HOW COULD I FORGET BEING HUMAN. THAT'S TOTALLY ON THAT LIST RIGHT THERE.
Way far and away, gone before it's time. I saw so many people moaning and whining about how it wasn't good without Annie, George and Mitchell, and yes, they were amazing and the heart of the first few seasons. BUT I definitely loved the new characters, particularly Hal and Tom and their relationship. *shakes fist* It was silly to end it so soon when they could have really done so much more with it.
The US version is total bollocks too, amirite?
I was NEVER so happy to see an actor than when Damien Molony surprised me with his adorable face on Ripper Street. Unf!
