...single men in their 40's are a hodgepodge of self-indulged man-children who lack basic self-awareness. Or something.

You just described my brother perfectly. *sigh* It's frustrating to see him be such an asshat and yet be so desperately lonely at the same time.

HUMAN BEINGS, MAN! *facepalm*

I know! I feel keenly that I am in no way describing ALL men. But I just see some behavior that really confirms a basic belief that they suck at multitasking. If they are doing their thing - they can't also maintain a relationship, buy their kid winter clothes, or consider their spouse's feelings. It's WEIRD.

So your brother is single, eh? (TOTALLY OMG KIDDING LOL).

MY BROTHER IS HORRIBLE! I mean, I am biologically obligated to love him, but duuuuude...

He told my Dad once that he wanted to find a woman who was serious about marriage and kids an' stuff but all he could find were women who wanted to "party and have fun" - like you can't have BOTH aspects to your personality if you're a woman, it's just ONE or the OTHER. He also says that the women he works with are just like all of the woman he's overseen in his jobs: lazy and self-absorbed. The 'best' way to deal with them is to 'act interested' in their complaints but to hold firm on refusing to assist them in any way.

So, basically, my brother will be single until the sun explodes because he thinks that a woman's problems/opinions are gender-exclusive and he refuses to engage with important aspects of her life because he's teaching her how to live her damned life somehow. But he still expects a woman to suck his dick on occasion, tie herself to him for life, and push out his babies >:/

It's hard to believe that we share DNA.

Wow he IS horrible. And yet, I feel that there are many women out there who will not understand the difference and be happy to tie themselves to him. He may just have to lower his expectations and look outside the workplace.

Maybe he is adopted. Or you are.
