I know that cancer can be cured... it's just seemingly aggressive. He's at Stanford now so we're getting better care. He's depressed and my mom is losing it (I can tell, though she puts up a good front). You know what this is like, so I appreciate that.
Writing kind of gets the brain cells moving... in what direction, who can say?
I bet a support group would really help your mom, and I would eat my navy-blue fedora (*after* it got run over by a truck) if Stanford does not have lots of them. Indeed an online support group probably would help you too. A diagnosis means that the medical guns can be turned toward treatment instead of floundering around trying to *get* a diagnosis. Also, your family should be doing a lot of lawyer stuff--your dad should be thinking about corporate transition planning, because best-case scenario is he's going to have to stop working for a while to get better. He might also get sorta-better and partially or fully retire.
The missing-me stuff is easily resolved (at last! you have an easily resolved problem!) 'cause just say when and I can come uptown and see you.

And, dude, with or without blogging, you are extremely valuable. Short film sounds like a good idea tho.
