and he would throw these enormous yellow ceramic vases at me, and i knew that if one hit me in the head it would probably kill me. but i would dodge it, then pick up the pieces and throw them back at him. there were other people in the store shopping. i would shout at them, "this man is the leader of the democratic party! and he's trying to kill me
