I can't get the taste of his caulk out of my mouth.

I spent much of the day at TG-YK, TOIRLALETISWICJSHWAPOPHWABBB's house, caulking stuff in the basement apartment and painting. When I caulk stuff, I usually get impatient and end up just licking my finger and smoothing the shit out. I went through TWO AND A HALF TUBES of latex caulk, and I can still taste that shit. It's a wonder I haven't just dropped dead, given the dissipated life I lead.

It's because the matter generator in your ass keeps on making more AJ to replace what gets dissipated. It's saving your life - the least you could do is give it a little more credit.

Regarding caulk, do you recommend it for sealing spaces between the wall, and oh, say, the floor? Quarter-round would just be too easy...

Well, that shit made sense when it popped unbidden into my brain-like oatmeal lump, but...

Anyway- there's no way in hell you can use caulk to fill gaps between the walls and floor. Come to think of it, it IS like a cake. Let's say you made a layer cake, right? And the layers had to be at right angles to each other, and they were hollow, and had been jiggled around a bit, and were now positioned in somewhat less-than-optimal planar relation to each other.

Visualizing that? Good.

Anyway- if you tried to ice that cake, given that you couldn't SEE most of the intersecting surfaces and therefore wouldn't KNOW what was a weensy gap between the two layers and what was an unfortunate INTERSECTION OF VOIDS, there'd be no way in hell you could reasonably expect to use just one can of Duncan Hines Lemon-And-Swordfish-With-Barbie-Branded-Sprinkles! frosting to adequately fill all of the....

Fuck. I lost it again. Anyway, just go get some quarter-round, and a saw of some sort and some finish nails and do the thingy like you should.
