thanks for the vote, momma, I know you like the Kat saga. There's more before and after that. I know you don't like Deacon, but the following entry is all about him. So I'm not sure how you'd feel about it, but I cried while trying to work up the courage to write it. and he's not even dead, heh, do I have you salivating?
You're welcome Als. It's really not easy (I've used every spare moment I can to write Vincent in between college, work, sick kitties, etc). It feels great to finish something (Though Vince, let's face it, is far from finished as I will have to write multiple and multiple books on him, Tristan, Asher, Jackson, Lily, et gang). And despite the fact Vincent is "Done" I know he's not " Done." lol. Editing, editing editing...and adding in those damn details I hate doing but are nessecary. It helps to have a wonderful husband that is willing to edit the monstrosity and best friends like D to read over and edit things in their insanity
( ... )
thanks for all the notes, Leslie, I know we don't talk much anymore (or ever really), but I do read your journal and your stuff
it helps a lot, really, I can't thank you enough.
And I don't even want to think about the query letter - ARGH, it frightens me. Honestly though, look into Mundania press, they sell a lot of fantasy stuff, they're a smaller publisher, but their work is good.
The hard part about a query letter is trying to sum up your novel in like one, hook of a sentence.
Ah see, I'm not going directly for a publisher. Anymore, too many of the publishers don't take unsolicited material. So I'm lookin' for an agent and querying them. I had a college class (My adv. creative where I was working on Vincent anywho) that explained what to look for, and how to go about doing it without spending a sent etc. So that's what I'm doing. There's lots of helpful stuff out there people just don't know about or use.
btw...thanks to you, I went detail happy on editing Vincent tonight...and the details made me, Miguel, and D laugh so damn hard. I was actually crying I was laughing that hard with what I wrote. So thanks for that, you detail-whore you. lol. ;)
