~ Not far across the city from the Ministry, the students at the Auror Academy are reaching the end of their day. Nothing too remarkable has happened aside from one trainee missing a hex and having to spend the rest of their marksmanship lesson covered in pulsing boils - Moody's policy that if you make a mistake you suffer the consequences

*Remus had, for the first time in the months since Malaprop's had opened, closed up shop early on a day he didn't have to. It was cold and damp outside, weather in England being what it was this time of year, and the people coming in off the street were generally cranky and irritable. Remus tended to blame that on a lack of proper vitamin D, what, and they might as well just stay outside to get it instead of coming in to Malaprop's and getting sticky fingerprints over books they were never going to buy.

So he checked the clock and realized that Sirius would be getting off from the Academy soon, and what a nice surprise that would be if Remus showed up to meet him? As he put his coat on, he thought that they might go out for drinks or dinner, maybe sneak into the cinema, cast a Disillusionment Charm and snog in the back of the theatre for kicks - after, of course, pranking the concessions stand somehow.

Remus nods to the wizard standing watch by the door, and smiles; how've you been, Howie? Not bad, not bad. Been a while, yeah? M'

*through one of the vents that are bizarrely always there connecting the mens and womens bathrooms, a voice that sounds like Lily's swears*

*there's a deafening bang, it strangely comes without that electric twing of magic, simply the sound of an abominable force ramming and splintering through wood - that abominable force is none other then Fenrir Greyback, his enormous form swathed in furs and sweat and filth - though he's a long hallway away, somehow that sharp odour is detectable even through the musty smell of the public lavatories, the werewolf lets out an animalistic howl*

*quickly draws his wand and hisses a Lumos to see, pressing himself against the door before turning the handle carefully*

*in the dark, the masked figure of Lucius brushes very near her, wand drawn, as he sends a curse at another student down the hall*

*comes in from the entrance way two people in tow. She had to be somewhere around here. Dodges various spells, as he rushes for cover behind a nearby statue. Gideon follows after him as Benji breaks off from the group and heads to help the students. Neither of them have a clue as to where Alice is.*

Shit...This isn't good.

*moves swiftly down the hall, taking out people as he can, and hears the comment*

*Sirius, still sniggering slightly with James over his well-placed Furnunculus! having proved to Willaby Delwin that yes, as a matter of fact, Sirius was faster on the draw and more accurate then he was; Delwin is still glaring at him from across the room, the yellowish-green boils pulsing like grotesque living things on his face*

Shame he didn't take me seriously, eh Jamie?

*suddenly their classroom is plunged in darkness*

What the bloody hell just happened?

*James raises his wand and nonverbally illuminates it*

*Mad Eye Moody utters a low "Easy lads." to which there was a slight "hmph" from one witch, then Moody reminds "Constant Vigilance" before opening the door with his wand drawn*

*whispers to James* Not going to tell the man his business, but does that seem wise to you?

No, but you've gotta hand it to him for bravery.

*James slinks across the floor to back Mad Eye up.  Because it's not terribly often that magical lights go out.  And it wouldn't be the first time James has made the mistake that Mad Eye might need help, due to his having only one real leg. He anticipates Sirius will follow.*

*Having just returned to the Ministry after a trying day of doing absolutely nothing, Fabian is shocked to hear the news. "Lights went out!" "Somethings happening!" "Are they sending a group over to check things out?" "You'd have to be a fool to attack the academy."*

*The only thought that runs through Fabians head before dashing off is how Alice might be in danger. Collects Gideon and Benji and together the three head off to check things out.*

*Appears with a crack just a small ways down the street. Immediately draws his wand and runs towards the building.*

No wonder nothing happened today!

*Fabian's entrance is met immediately by a curse fizzling past him as an unengaged Death Eater spots his intrusion*

*Has rushed away from Lucius brother covering his back as he makes his way towards the stairs in a hopes of finding Alice. Spots another group of Death Eaters coming in then a curse nearly hits him in the face. Ducks down and spins on towards the new threat*

*His brother sends a Stupefy over his shoulder towards the offenders*

*the cloaked figure nimbly steps out of the curse's range, sending another round of highly unpleasant spells at the brothers, the Death Eater's aim is dangerously competent*

*when he makes the trip over to the Auror Academy, Crouch Sr. usually times it with the end of lunch so he can be seen but no one will stop him, they have there own places to be - there was a time when being a seen involved in the trainees educations was a definite smart step in his career, but that time has passed and he has moved on to bigger fish - today, however, he was late, and he is just looking over the last of Moody's reports when the lights go out*

*Barty has had quite the adventure, his side is bleeding slightly - though it's a welcome injury considering how close he came to being vaguely chunky paint on the wall, he has no idea how he lost Mad Eye Moody - he certainly didn't run away, nonetheless, somehow he's been pushed from the battle as the attack spreads out and now he's lost in the halls, attempting to find some proper action - he's quite oblivious to the grand opportunity about to present itself*

*Crouch Sr. sighs with so much negativity only a man of his character can do it and make it sound so disgusted, then he lights his wand and goes to the office door*

*Barty is quick to catch sight of the light at the end of the hall, his own wand isn't lit - he's used to navigating in the dark, what with the amount of late night sneaking he's done in the past, thus he's near invisible in the shadows*
