you can rout ethernet cables along the joints between walls + ceilings. that keeps them out of your way. get neutral colored cables, so they don't stand out as much. you'll be fine.

Personally I'd get the Linksys 4-port router/switch, as it's the easiest one I know of to set up. The link you posted was down when I checked (2:40 am), so if they're the same, forgive me

yeah it appears you didnt read my journal... because i said i wanted wireless but cant get it because my roommate has a desktop and would have to buy an expensive card. so while i want wireless, i have to get non-wireless. i was looking at that linksys one but i had to give it the no bro.

If you check http://www.spoofee.com they have a link to get the Linksys 4 port router/switch (not wireless) for 39.99 with a 128 Meg stick of Ram (route your connection and speed up your PC all at once). I've used both the D-Link and the Linksys, and the Linksys is MUCH easier to configure, and more reliable in my experience.
The only one that would be easier for a non-technical person to set up would be Belkin, which is more expensive.
If you have any questions drop a note in my LJ, being a professional, I sometimes have a bit of insight into these things.

You do realize that the router he linked too is both wired and wireless right? You could use BOTH wireless and regular networking.
Only problem is that *I Believe* it's only an 11Mbs connection, whereas normal ethernet networking goes up to 100Mbs (we're only talking about between the computers in your network here, you won't get anywhere close to either of those speeds for internet communications).

thanks anyway but its over, i ordered the d-link one with some really super long cables. also, that wired/wireless linksys router-slash-access-point one was ridiculously expensive.
