im sitting here trying to figure out something with my boyfriends cat, when i finally realized i have pretty many people on my list that have/had cats...so maybe just maybe i can get a little advice from someone or two

Hmm... judging from the perspective of a guy whose cats have gotten out and disappeared for like 3 days at a time...

I'd bet dollars to donuts he has an ear infection, or some sort of parasite, that is beating up his lobes. There is not a lot you can do at home, frankly, and anything you might do I would advise against.

Things that are good for us physically when we're wounded (hydrogen peroxide, isopropyl alcohol, etc.) could do a lot of damage to an animal... I can't say for sure what would do what or why, cause I'm no vet either, but what I would do (if you really cannot take him to the vet at all) is at least call the place and ask them for some advice... more than likely, they'll just tell you to bring him in, but maybe they'll give you something... it's worth a shot, anyways.

we've decided to just keep a watch on it until we can afford to take him in...the next time i see it get bad imma call the vet and see what advise they can give me...last night went i went back over there it was looking a bit better...so ya..thnx for the advice...you stopped me from doing something that coulda hurt the poor fella
